Comprising all that territory lying between a line running eastward from the Indian Ocean along the 20th parallel of S. latitude to the 121st degree of longitude, thence due south to the 23rd parallel of S. latitude thence due east to the western border of the Northern Territory, and a similar line running eastward from the Indian Ocean along the 30th parallel of S. latitude to the 120th degree of longitude, thence due north to the 29th parallel of S. latitude, thence due east to the western border of South Australia. Area: 1,318,000 sq km.
